TMI?

So I'm sure that the lot of you have probably noticed by now that I am a little bit camera-shy. Well, I'm sorry about that. I am endeavoring to change (so there, Abi :oP) and now that one of my main 'issues' has been (mostly) cleared up I promise I'll be a bit more forthcoming with the pix from now on.

What is this 'issue' you ask?

My teeth. Or lack thereof.

See...I was born lacking a few adult teeth and the adult teeth that showed themselves were *very* small. I literally had baby teeth with a few exceptions and until recently my smile looked like this:

which I did not find very attractive...so, thanks to my wonderful Grandmother (whom I miss dearly) and a KICK-ASS dentist my smile now looks like this:

Sorry about the crappy pictures - I'm not so good at the self-portrait thing...I'll tell you what, though, my face? Completely different. Wanna look like you lost ten pounds under your chin? Spend the equivalent of a *very* nice used car on your teeth and have your jaw realigned in the process. It's magical ;o)

I love my dentist so much I'm knitting him a scarf. A cashmere scarf, that is ;o) We're not done yet since I have to get a couple implants (which I am VERY FREAKED about) and caps on the bottom in December but...baby steps and all...

So, you'll probably be seeing a bit more of me on here from now on - sorry if this is a bit TMI but it has taken me four months to get to this point and I'm pretty damned proud of it :o) (I'm also a little bit addicted to the happy gas *hic*) Tell me what you think - do you guys like my new look?

Fantastic! You must be walking on air. (Or is that just during the laughing gas part?)

I am really happy about your new smile! And I hope to see that beautiful smile at RHINEBECK!

If you want to meet other knitters/bloggers at Rhinebeck then plan on meeting at Noon on Saturday outside the entrance to building 26; the entrance closes to the main gate. Hope to meet you there! SPREAD THE WORD!

You look amazing. I know how it feels to be able to smile without being embarassed or self conscious - Way To Go! Also, thanks for posting a comment about my stash. It is small, but it is nice and I love it.

FANTASTIC!!!!

Your teeth are Kick-Ass!!! And the rest of your face is great, too. Glad to see it.

Wish I was closer to your dentist. Guess I'll have to switch to get the teeth I've always wanted.

OOH! OOH! Saturday!!! 2 days!!! OOH! OOH!

Hey! Any reason that Abi's link doesn't work? Can't get to it from your blog, either.

Wow - I am always awed at what dentistry can do today. Great smile! :)

Nice teeth! (Just so everyone knows Jess flashes her teeth at me EVERY time I see her) ;-) I am happy she is happy though. Umm...I don't think I get the Quote of the Moment. You'll have to explain on our way to RHINEBECK tomorrow! It's like Christmas Eve...

What is up with my blog! I can't get to it either :-{

By the way I am SO happy you updated your picture album, finally.

Hey there, good job, Mr. dentist:-)
But I'm telling you, I've seen a MUCH worse case of an adult with his actual milk teeth... no comparison to yours, really, he looked like a shark with huge gaps between his teeth.
